Does it hurt?
A micro needle is used for the injections. Some patients say there is minor pain but it’s temporary.
How long does it take?
Depending on what treatment is done, an appointment will take between 15 and 30 minutes.
When will I see results?
Effects will be noticeable within a few days and maximum effect within 7-10 days.
How long will the results last?
The effects of treatment is not permanent and reverses over time. Treatment lasts on average between 3 and 4 months. There will be a gradual fading of the results. When you notice this, give Opal MedClinic a call and we can arrange for your next treatment.
I’ve heard there can be better results with subsequent treatments?
Yes, some evidence shows that the muscles “lose their memory” and thus, the length of time between treatments may lengthen for some patients.
Possible Side Effects:
Possible side effects can include slight discomfort from the microfine needle, small bruising at the injection sites, redness, headache, eyelid swelling, and a small risk of infection. A very rare side effect is the temporary drooping of the eyebrow or eyelid and temporary facial paralysis close to the injection site.
Contraindications:
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an allergy to milk protein (NOT lactose), have an autoimmune or neuromuscular disease, a bleeding disorder and if you are on immunoglycosides. If you are sick and/or on antibiotics, you need to wait until you are feeling better. We also do not treat patients with active facial lesions.
How much does it cost?

As we age, our skin loses elasticity. Combined with decreased bone density, our face and neck show signs of aging. At Opal MedClinic we offer safe and effective non-permanent hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers to treat the signs of aging. Hyaluronan is present in human connective tissue and is synthesized by the body daily. HA based fillers are safe and are used to replace the HA degraded naturally by our body. Fillers are suitable for deep facial creases and wrinkles. They can also be used to plump up facial features like the lips, jawline and cheeks. Hyaluronic acid molecules draw in and bind to water molecules which creates facial volume. The effect of dermal fillers is immediate, with the results lasting between 6 and 12 months.
Is it safe?
We use hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers. HA based fillers are safe and are used to replace the HA that is degraded naturally by our body.
Do the injections hurt?
A very small needle and/or cannula is used. Many filler products contain a local anaesthetic which numbs the area being treated. Before treating lips, we apply an anaesthetic cream and follow up the treatment with an ice pack.
How long does it take?
Dermal filler treatments take approximately 30 minutes.
When will I see results?
Immediately! And you will see improved results over the next 2 days.
How long will the results last?
Usually between 6 and 9 months. Over time, the filler breaks down, is absorbed by the body and the fullness achieved with treatment slowly diminishes. When you notice this occurring, call Opal Medical Clinic to book another treatment.
